What is Deferred Enforced Departure?

A Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) is similar to TPS but is granted by the President instead of Homeland Security. DED was formerly known as Extended Voluntary Departure. The President does this in consideration of foreign policy. An Employment Authorization Document or travel rights may be granted under the order of the President, and are specifically tailored to each DED situation.
